Stem Cell Therapy

Treatment Instructions

Below is our full stem cell treatment information from start to finish. Please be sure to report any recent dental work, infections, and/or surgery and provide a full list of current medications prior to your stem cell treatment. Please feel free to contact our office for any additional information at 800-577-2570.

Day of the Treatment:

On the day of your actual stem cell treatment, take a shower and be sure to wash your entire body thoroughly. Wear baggy, loose pants (such as sweatpants) and a comfortable top. Fortunately, there are no dietary restrictions before or after your stem cell procedure; however, you should avoid consuming ANY alcohol for 8 hours prior and after your treatment.

During the Treatment:

We perform a “mini” liposuction procedure to harvest stem cells, which is done in our surgical facility using a local anesthetic. Once the anesthetic takes effect, the doctor will make a small puncture and remove some fat with a suction device. During this procedure, you may feel a pulling sensation. Overall, this procedure takes approximately 20 minutes, and the puncture will heal naturally without stitches.

Treatment may be deployed in the form of an injection and/or an IV. The site of the injection or IV is numbed for your comfort. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

Following the Treatment:

Your post-stem cell treatment period may require a modified physical activity for a period of 48 hours. Your doctor may provide you with additional instructions for specific activities depending on the type of stem cell deployment you had.

You may be asked to avoid any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications following your stem cell injections. (i.e. Advil, Motrin, Naprosyn, etc).

Other things to consider:

  • A slight amount of bruising and swelling is expected.
  • You may need someone to drive you home from the treatment.
  • Place an ice pack on your liposuction harvest site if there is any discomfort.
  • While any discomfort you feel should be very mild.  If you need it, an over-the-counter pain reliever may help such as Tylenol.

You may shower (no baths) as early as the next day. We recommend you wear a compression bandage overnight. You may want to re-apply this bandage as needed for comfort.
