Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) | Acell MatriStem
If you would like to have thicker, fuller hair, and taking drugs or having surgery isn’t right for you, there is a new option.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can restore your hair by attacking the very cause of hair loss or thinning. Platelets are the tiny cells in your blood that trigger healing when you have an injury or cut yourself. They are packed with Growth Factors, and they can be isolated by a simple procedure that is just like a blood test at your doctor’s office. The Platelets are injected into your scalp, and they stimulate the dormant hair follicles to wake up and grow. Our patients are also seeing impressive results, as these before and after photos demonstrate:
BEFORE and AFTER PHOTOS
I (Dr. Mok) have had my scalp injected with PRP and PRP plus Acell MatriStem. I noticed new, dark hairs growing after 1 treatment (my hair was dark, but is now turning grey).
A variety of factors can cause hair loss: natural aging, genetic baldness, traction alopecia, skin issues, hormonal changes, underlying medical conditions, medications, or hair loss caused by breast cancer treatments.
Anyone with thinning hair or hair loss. PRP is an especially great choice for patients who have already maximized other medical therapies. PRP can also be used in conjunction with hair transplants.
PRP increases circulation to the target area by using a patient’s own growth platelets. These platelets stimulate growth, suppress hair loss, speed up healing time, and encourage collagen growth.
The methods we use to create and administer the PRP serum cause little to no swelling/pain. At Allure, we’ve done over 1,100 PRP procedures and have seen a 90% success rate.
It will vary from individual to individual. Most people have results lasting beyond a year, and the process can be repeated.
PRP cost starts at $3,000 for 5 sessions of high volume PRP.
Our Magic Lift patients can enjoy significant savings off of PRP for hair growth.
You may feel slight discomfort when PRP is done; afterward, your scalp may remain numb for a few hours.
We recommend having five PRP treatments to get the best results. The first three treatments are scheduled one month apart, while the last two are three to six months apart.
The only thing you need to do to prepare is to be hydrated and to have eaten something. This is because we will be drawing blood.
You may experience some soreness of the scalp for approximately 3 to 4 days after the procedure and it may persist for a week or more. This soreness usually feels like mild sunburn.
You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment, although we do recommend not working out the same day. Ice compresses may be used on the scalp or forehead to prevent swelling. Over-the-counter pain medications can be used as needed.
