Liposuction (also called lipo sculpture, lipo selection, or just plain lipo) involves removing fat from unwanted areas. The doctor will review your concerns, help you determine if liposuction is right for you, and discuss your alternative options. Most procedures are done with some form of sedation. The amount of time off work is based on the amount of fat removed. In a small area, like arm or neck liposuction, there is very little discomfort, and essentially no recovery period. For larger areas such as the abdomen and love handles, most people plan for 2-4 days off of work. For people who do not want to undergo surgery, Mesotherapy or Lipodissolve involves a series of injections into the fat that breaks up the fat cells, reducing or sculpting the specific area. In our office, this surgery is done with no scalpel, instead we use a laser or radiofrequency device to remove the skin for better control and better results. The eyelid lift is performed for a variety of reasons. Some people have such lose skin, that they actually have impairment of vision.
